City officials will meet with residents, downtown business owners and Brigham Young University students Saturday morning at the Covey Center for the Arts to continue their ongoing effort to create a common vision for Provo's downtown.
Saturday's workshop is the third in a series of meetings, sponsored by the Provo City Redevelopment Agency, to create a Downtown Strategic Plan. The goal of the project is to create a step-by-step action plan to achieve a downtown district Provo residents, visitors and business owners can enjoy.
The workshops are mediated by consultants from Cooper Roberts Simonsen Associates, a Salt Lake urban planning and design firm, and in the past focused on pinpointing obstacles facing the downtown district and identifying people who could address specific issues. The upcoming meeting will center on "ways to take advantage of the opportunities presented in the downtown," said Paul Glauser, director of the Provo's Redevelopment Agency.
The meeting will be held on the 2nd floor of the Covey Center for the Arts and run from 8 a.m. to noon.
