Former Cottonwood High School baseball star Cliff Andersen got an opportunity to play for the Chicago Cubs in Tuesday night's major league exhibition game against the Oakland Athletics.

Andersen made the most of his opportunity, too, going 2-for-3 at the plate with a run-scoring sacrifice fly while serving as the Cubs' designated hitter.

Andersen, a 2006 Cottonwood High graduate, was drafted in the ninth round by the Cubs that year and is currently a center fielder for the Class A Peoria Chiefs.
