Gregg D Otteson, beloved son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and friend, age 59, passed away on March 20, 2008 at home unexpectedly.Born July 8, 1948 in Idaho Falls, Idaho to Keith Vern and Oral Forman Otteson. He married Tracy VanderLinden on March 15, 1971 in the Salt Lake Temple. Gregg graduated from Granite High School, LDS Business College and served honorably in the Central California Mission and was a proud member of the US Marine Corps.

He enjoyed classical and jazz music, singing in the ward choir, cooking and eating good food, golfing, dachshunds and being with his family. He was a talented pianist, a procurer of hats, musical ties and food. He served faithfully in many church callings including primary and Sunday school teacher and in the bishopric. He found immense joy serving as missionary in the ARP mission in the last years of his life (he loved to go to jail).

Gregg is survived by his wife, children Megin (Joshua) Hoecherl, Sarah (Brian) Linton, Gerri (Darin) Allen, Sharlotte, Dauci (currently serving in the SD, Rapid City mission) and Jocalyn (JT) Tate, eight grandchildren (one on the way), his parents and sister, Gina Fisher. Preceded in death by a sister, Kay.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 24, 2008 at 12:00 pm at the Butler West Stake Center (1845 East 7200 South). Friends may call at the Cannon Mortuary, 2460 E. Bengal Blvd (7600 South), on March 23rd from 6-8 pm and one hour prior to services. Interment at Mountain View Memorial Estates in Cottonwood Heights.
