A Life

Committed to Service

LeRae Christensen Hoggan passed away March 22, 2008.Born May 26, 1932 to M. Elmer and Melba Morgan Christensen, she was reared in a home where the gospel of Jesus Christ was central to all that they did. Principles of industry and frugality learned in her youth are evident in the three generations that have been taught at her footstool. A graduate of Granite High School, she married her high school sweetheart, Glen Allen Hoggan on September 4, 1952 in the Salt Lake Temple. Illustrating their commitment to service, they have been united in their support of each other and devoted in service through a wide variety of opportunities including many leadership and teaching opportunities in the PTA, Primary Children's Hospital, DUP, Boy Scouts of America, Military Wives Auxiliary and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Serving eight LDS missions together strengthened their devotion to each other and to their Savior. The true essence and crowning glory of her service has been to her family. Her husband and children truly do "arise up and call her blessed".

She is survived by her eternal companion, Glen, their children: Jill and Kirk Kirkham (Pocatello, ID); Lyn and Eric Denna (Orem); Sterling and Janice (Byron, CA); David and Karleen (Antioch, CA); Ann and Steve Anderson (Gainesville, VA) and Shaun and Amber (Pleasant Hill, CA), 24 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and her three brothers: Dale, Dean, and Barr Christensen. LeRae's family rejoices in the knowledge of her reunion with her daughter, parents, grandchildren and other loved ones that have preceded her.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, March 29, 2008 at the Millcreek Stake Center, 4220 S 420 E at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to your favorite charity in the name of LeRae Hoggan.
