Lois M. Vandegrift

"Loving Mother & Grandmother"

Lois M. Vandegrift, daughter of R. B. and Ella (Meader) Reynolds, was born on a farm near Dannebrog, Nebraska, March 18, 1906. She was the middle child between Lynn and Err Neal. She passed away on Tuesday evening, February 26, 2008 at her home in Murray, Utah

surrounded by children and grandchildren. Most of her family had gratefully spent time with her in her last few days. She will be missed by all of her family.

She married Evans C. Vandegrift, a school teacher, on June 16, 1926. They lived in Nebraska, Wyoming, Utah, Nevada, and Idaho before

returning to Utah in 1995. Evans passed away June 13, 1999 in Salt Lake City. She was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother. Her pleasure was in her family and her faith. She was a member of the Bountiful First Baptist Church.

Their children are, Shirley Westwood, Robert L. (Nancy) Vandegrift, Phyllis Christensen

Farrell, Lois (Eugene) Duncan,

Marilyn Shaw Purser, and Julia McCarty Burke Vandegrift. In addition to her children, there were 25 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; and 17 great great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brothers, and sister-in-law, Martha Reynolds. Also preceded in death by sons-in-law: Dale Westwood, Russell Farrell, Edward Purser, Glen Shaw; and Grandson Greggory L. Shaw. She was the last of her generation.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 4, 2008, 12:00 noon at the Bountiful First Baptist Church, 1915 S. Orchard Drive, Bountiful, Utah. Family and friends may call on Monday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the Memorial Mortuary, 5850 S. 900 E., Murray and prior to the services in Bountiful at 11:00 a.m. Interment at Redwood Memorial Estates, 6500 S. Redwood Road.
