The Salt Lake City Parks Department opened its doors at 6 a.m. today to begin taking reservations on a first-come, first-served basis for those hoping to reserve a city park bowery for this year. Reservations will be taken today only from those who make their requests in person at 1965 W. 500 South.

Reservations can be made over the phone beginning Tuesday and online at www.slcgov.com/parks beginning March 10.

In recent years, about 300 reservations were made on the first day, with the most popular choice being Washington Park, located up Parleys Canyon near Mountain Dell Golf Course, according to the parks department. Weekends also fill up fast.

Fees for park reservations this year are $40 for Salt Lake City residents and $50 for nonresidents at all parks except Washington Park, where reservations cost $75 for residents and $100 for nonresidents. Payment is required at the time of reservation.
