Anna Rose Laveder Wood

1943 ~ 2008

Beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and friend passed away on March 28, 2008 after a valiant fight with lung

cancer.

Anna Rose was born to John and Rose Trinnaman Laveder on January 14, 1943 in Murray, Utah. She was raised along with her two older brothers in Midvale, Utah. She graduated from Jordan High School in 1962. She was an accomplished clarinetist and performed as a soloist with the Utah Symphony at 16 in the Salute to Youth concert. Later in college she was a substitute member of the Utah Symphony and performed on many recordings including several Mahler symphonies and as the clarinet soloist in Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue. Anna Rose graduated from the University of Utah in 1966 with a BA in Music Education. While at the University she played her clarinet in the Marching Band, Concert Band, and University Symphony Orchestra. She met her future husband, a fellow clarinetist, Robert Wood as a teenager in the Utah Youth Symphony. They fell in love and married on January 8, 1966 at St. Theresa's Catholic Church. Her family was her proudest accomplishment. Anna Rose and Robert raised seven children together. She was a loving and devoted mother who maintained a warm and harmonious household. Anna Rose was a devout Catholic and was a member of St. Thomas Moore Catholic Parish for over 25 years. She and Robert loved to travel and spent much of their retirement taking road trips around the western United States and visiting children living out of state. Anna Rose was a wonderful person and everyone that knew her will miss her loving presence in their lives. It is with great sorrow that we have to say good-bye much too soon!
