The sixth-seeded Southern Utah women's basketball team will face the No. 3-seeded IUPUI Jaguars in the first round of The Summit League tournament today at 2:30 p.m. in Tulsa, Okla.
The Thunderbirds split the regular-season games with the Jaguars, with the home team picking up the victory in each contest.
SUU is on an eight-year drought of wins in the conference tournament, with the last win coming during the 1998-99 season.
A win for the Thunderbirds in the first round this year would set up a meeting with the winner of the Western Illinois-UMKC game. Southern Utah split the regular-season games with UMKC, with the home team winning each time, but lost both games to Western Illinois during the year.
The finals will be played on Tuesday at 2 p.m., with the title game shown live on ESPNU.
