Pete Nicholas Loukas passed away on Monday, April 7, 2008.He was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on November 3, 1937 to Nicholas Pete and Vickie Pangos Loukas. He married Mary Monty February 28, 1971, later divorced. As a single father, he raised a fine son, Nicholas, who was the joy of his life.
Pete was a club owner for almost 50 years. During that time, he met many people who enjoyed his wonderful sense of humor. At the time of his death, he was the owner and operator of Club Sandpiper. Pete was a long-time member of the Club Owner's Association. He was always positive, compassionate and a very giving man.
He is survived by his sons, Nicholas (Jennifer) and Kirk Kesler, mother, Vicki Loukas; sister, Billie Poulos, granddaughter, Nicole-the apple of his eye-nephew, Nick Poulos, nieces, Stephanie Arrasi, Vickie Sangberg and families. Preceded in death by his father and brother-in-law, Steven Poulos. Dear Papou,

We were looking for a miracle this time; however, we realize that we were blessed with a miracle eight years ago. The family wishes to thank Dr. Steven Desautels and his staff especially Portia for keeping our loved one comfortable and giving him a quality of life through those eight years.
Friends may call Thursday, April 10 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. with Trisagion Prayer Service at 7:30 p.m. at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 S. Highland Drive. Funeral services will be held Friday, April 11 at 11:00 a.m. at Prophet Elias Greek Orthodox Church, 5335 S. Highland Drive. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery at 1342 E. 500 S. in Salt Lake City.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be sent to Prophet Elias Greek Orthodox Church Icon Fund, 5335 S. Highland Drive, Holladay, UT 84117 or the Diabetes Association.
