The first-ever "Safety Saturday" shredding event will take place Saturday at the Utah Central Credit Union West Jordan branch, 2089 W. 9000 South, West Jordan.
A shredding truck from Sugarhouse Archives will be available in the parking lot from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for anyone wishing to destroy old records and documents or credit card solicitations that contain sensitive data that could be misused.
West Jordan police will offer safety ID kits for children, who will be fingerprinted and photographed.
