MOAB (AP) — A 92-year-old bridge destroyed by fire near Moab could be rebuilt.
The Committee for the Restoration of the historic Dewey Bridge has decided to seek a feasibility study, using most of the same construction techniques.
Committee member Wilda Irish of Moab says the group will also start seeking money for the project.
The 500-foot suspension bridge spanning the Colorado River burned April 6 after a 7-year-old boy started a brush fire with matches.
Irish says the bridge, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, was an important piece of local history. She says the loss left a big hole in her heart.
