Dennis LeLand Hanson

"An Awesome Guy"

Dennis LeLand Hanson, age 45, loving husband to Karla Beck Hanson, son to Archie and Janice Hanson, and son-in-law to Carl and Ardith Beck passed away on April 26, 2008 from a very rare form of cancer (angiosarcoma) at his home with his family gathered around him.Dennis was born on January 31, 1963. He and Karla were married January 15, 1982 and their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on September 20, 2003.

Dennis and Karla have four children all from Magna: Bracken (Amanda), Tyler (Lacy), Hollie (Brandon) Rino, and Dustin. He is grandpa to our sweet and special Carlee who is 1 1/2 . Dennis was a very devoted dad and grandpa and loved his children and grandchild very much. They were the highlights of his life.

Dennis has two brothers, Archie (Tracie) of Hudson, WY and Trevor (Becky) of West Valley City, UT. Dennis' sweet mom passed away in December 2004 and his great example of a father-in-law left us in September 2000.

Dennis loved to spend time with his family in the great outdoors, hunting, fishing, camping and golfing just to name a few. He was so happy being with his family. He was a great cook and was often found in the kitchen helping prepare the food for the family get-togethers.

Dennis was employed at Harmon's Grocery store for 20 years and then at Kearns Improvement District for the last seven years. He was so proud to be employed at Kearns and enjoyed everyday working there. He had a great family of friends at both Harmon's and Kearns.

Karla wishes to thank her and Dennis' family and friends for all of their prayers, love, support, kindness and never-ending help, without all of you our family would have never made it through this trying trial. The employees at Harmon's and Kearns have been so good to us. The cards, phone calls, visits and gifts are so much appreciated. She would also like to thank Dr. Patricia Legant and Sharon, Dr. Stephen Lordon, Nancy and Lisa at Jordan Valley Hospital, the doctors and staff of the 6th north floor at the U of U Hospital, Rocky Mountain Hospice, Ingrid Stephensen, Cloe at Salt Lake Regional hospital and the Spencer 5th ward. We receive great comfort in knowing that we will be with Dennis again and we rejoice that he is no longer in pain and he is now walking with his loved ones, Heavenly Father and Jesus in heaven.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, May 1, 2008 at the LDS Chapel, 3832 S. 8000 W., Magna, where friends and family may gather both Wednesday. April 30th 6-8 p.m. and Thursday 10-10:45 a.m. Interment will be held Thursday 2:30 p.m. at the Heber City Cemetery. Online condolences: www. Peelfuneralhome.com
