A few bad apples caused some delays on I-15 in Weber County Wednesday.
Just before 2:30 a.m. a semi tractor-trailer hauling a large load of apples overturned on I-15 near 2700 North in Weber County, said Utah Highway Patrol trooper Cameron Roden.
Investigators believe the driver, a 32-year-old man from Chicago driving for Savy Trucking, dozed off and drifted off the road, through the median and lost control of his rig before rolling, Roden said.
The driver was pinned in his truck and had to be extricated. He was taken to McKay-Dee Hospital with minor injuries, Roden said.
The freeway is two lanes in the area where the truck rolled. As of 11 a.m., one lane still remained close as crews were still cleaning apples off the road.
The truck driver was cited in connection with the accident.
