The U.S. Department of Justice this week announced it will distribute $5 million to fund 43 new assistant U.S. attorney positions, including one in Utah.

The move comes to support the Project Safe Childhood initiative. The initiative's mission is to coordinate federal, state and local resources to locate, apprehend and prosecute those who exploit children via the Internet, as well as identify and rescue victims.

According to the U.S. Attorney's Office for Utah, the Justice Department included one new position for Utah in recognition of significant work being done on child exploitation cases in the state.
