The public comment period has been extended 30 days to weigh in on whether the greater sage grouse deserves protection under the federal Endangered Species Act, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service announced Monday. The extended comment period will end June 27, 2008.
The reason for the extension is because of "relevant new information" that has become available. The species is found in 11 western states, including Utah.
