The Salt Lake Bees announced today that the club has recalled right-handed pitcher Jeff Kennard to triple-A Salt Lake from double-A Arkansas.

Kennard, 26, made five appearances for the Bees this season, owning a 0-0 record and 7.04 ERA (7.2 IP, 11 H, 8 R, 6 ER, 6 BB) before being assigned to the Travelers on April 21. He appeared in five games for Arkansas, registering a 0-1 record with a 3.86 ERA (7.0 IP, 9 H, 2 R, 3 ER, 4 BB). The Centerville, Ohio, native was traded to the Angels from the New York Yankees in 2007.

Also, right-handed pitcher Rich Thompson has been put on the disabled list with right shoulder nerve inflammation.

Thompson, 23, has appeared in nine games for the Bees, owning a 1-0 record with a 4.38 ERA. The Australian native has also tossed in two games for the Angels this season.

The 27-7 Salt Lake Bees begin a four-game home stand tonight at 6:35 p.m. against the Round Rock Express. The Bees will wear pink jerseys in support of Breast Cancer Awareness. A silent auction will be held on the concourse for the game-worn jerseys with all proceeds benefiting the Huntsman Cancer Foundation.
