HOUSTON — Dwayne De Rosario converted a penalty kick in the 87th minute to lead the Dynamo to their first win of the season.
Colorado's Ugo Ihemelu was issued a yellow card in the 86th minute for an intentional handball in the box. De Rosario took the penalty kick and fired a shot into the left corner to give the Dynamo the lead.
Houston (1-2-4) opened the scoring in the 43rd minute when Brian Ching took an upfield pass from Stuart Holden for a breakaway. Ching faked out Rapids goalkeeper Bouna Coundoul and scored into an empty net. It was Houston's first score in 234 minutes.
Colorado (3-4-0) tied the game in the 68th minute when Christian Gomez fed Omar Cummings a pass on the right box that he shot past a diving Pat Onstad.
CREW 3, EARTHQUAKES 2: At Santa Clara, Calif., Robbie Rogers scored two goals and the Eastern Division-leading Crew scored three times in the final 20 minutes to win its fifth straight game. Trailing 1-0 Rogers scored in the 73rd and 81st minutes to give the Crew (6-1) the lead for good. Brad Evans scored at 83 minutes, making it 3-1 before the expansion Earthquakes (1-4-1) closed to 3-2 on a high-flying header by Ryan Johnson at the 89th minute.
RED BULLS 2, GALAXY 1: At Carson, Calif., Juan Pablo Angel scored in the 78th minute to give the Red Bulls a victory over the Galaxy. Danleigh Borman added his first goal for the Red Bulls (3-1-2), who extended their unbeaten steak to four games. Alan Gordon scored for Los Angeles (2-3-2). David Beckham received his first MLS yellow card in the 67th minute. He collided with New York's Dave van den Bergh after van den Bergh passed the ball. f-bA cascade of boos followed the announcement. The yellow card was Beckham's first since the SuperLiga semifinal Aug. 15 against D.C. United.
