Vivian Shulz Roberts

Vivian Shulz Roberts died from a massive brain hemmorage at the University of Utah Medical Center in Salt Lake City, UT on May 8, 2008. She was born on November 2, 1933 to Peter Shulz and Effie Davis in Ogden, Utah. She married Air Force Sargeant Darrel L. Roberts on December 7, 1951 on a cold, snowy, winter night at Liberty, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in 1962 in the Salt Lake Temple for time and all eternity. She is a wonderful mother of four beautiful daughters. She was a graduate of Ogden High School. Vivian loved her family dearly and was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was an immaculate homemaker and a tremendous cook. She was a gifted artist and her home is adorned with many of her beautiful paintings. She loved plants and flowers and was looking forward to decorating her patio with many beautiful summer flowers. She loved to travel all over the world with her husband and family. She had a special affinity for Egypt and the sights and sounds in that ancient land of the Pharoahs.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Pamela Whiteley; and Granddaughter, Rachel Bawden. She is survived by her loving and adoring husband, Darrel L. Roberts; Brother-in- Law, Donald Whiteley; Brother, Michael (Pam) Shulz; and Sister, Chana (Curt) McKenzie, daughters, Stephanie Tipton, Michelle Gutierrez, Denise (Kirk) Throndsen, Melissa (Rick) Larsen; ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Nearly all of her life from age five, Vivian suffered from multiple health problems when she was bedfast for one year with rheumatic fever. It left her with a bad heart and subsequently three open heart surgeries and six pacemakers, as well as many other health problems.
Graveside services will be held Monday, May 12 at 12 Noon at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 3401 Highland Drive, Salt Lake. Family and friends may call one hour prior to services at the same location.
