Vivian T. Whittaker

1918 ~ 2008

Margaret Vivian Tregeagle Whittaker, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend passed away May 6, 2008. Born in Salt Lake City, June 6, 1918 to Clarence Edly and Margaret Louise Gronau Tregeagle. Married LaVar Howard Whittaker, October 18, 1944 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Graduated from East High School. Her love for her family was paramount. After raising her three children she served along side her husband in the Jordan River Temple. She always faithfully served in various church callings. She particularly enjoyed her last calling as a greeter in the Cottonwood Acres Ward. Vivian opened her heart to everyone who came in and out of her life and respected all people. She always had a smile and a kind word for everyone she met. The church missionary program was very important to her and LaVar, they supported many family members and others in their missionary efforts.

Survived by, daughter, Marilyn; and sons, Richard (Mary); John (Diane); grandchildren; Jeffrey Shuey and Amy (Wade) Lambert, Bryan Whittaker, Leslie (Michael) Larsen, Brian (Christina)and Cory (Patricia) MacNeil, Jed, CJ (Ann), David and Scott Whittaker and two great-grandchildren Dalton Wood and Jeffrey MacNeil; sister, Dorothy (James) Polve and special Aunt Ethel Tregeagle. Preceded in death by husband LaVar and brother, Gordon Tregeagle.

The family would like to thank her thoughtful and compassionate care givers, Esta and Erica.

Funeral services will be Mon., May 12, 2008, at 12:00 noon at the Cottonwood Acres Ward, 981 East Revere Cir., (5550 S.). Friends and family may call at the Ward Sunday evening from 6-8 p.m. and again at the ward on Monday one hour prior to services. Interment Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
