Elsie "Joan" Bills
Beloved Wife & Mother
Our sweet wife and mother has been called home after a valiant struggle with Parkinson's Disease. Elsie Joan Christensen Bills passed away on May 8, 2008. Joan was born on September 18, 1934 to Calvin N. Christensen and Juanita Sanderson in Mt. Pleasant, Utah. She married Harvey Ray Bills on February 16, 1981. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Jordan River Temple. Joan lived a full and productive life. Her family loved her bread and pies. She was an excellent seamstress and artist. She held parties for every occasion which brought the family together often. She was an active member of the LDS Church, serving as a Relief Society President twice, Young Women's Stake president and many other callings. She and Ray served a mission at the Jordan Valley Institute. She loved the Lord and tried to serve Him well all her days.
She was a social worker many years and then learned the art of doll making. She taught many how to make dolls and there are literally hundreds of them throughout the USA. She loved to see new places and has traveled extensively.
She will be deeply missed by her husband, Harvey Ray Bills; her four children and three step-children, Terry (Marv) Sorensen, Guy (Karen) Timothy, Craig (Janet) Timothy, Jodi (Mark) Hansen, Terry (Cindy) Bills, Charlene (Scott) Gapinski and Shelley Tripp. She also leaves 22 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
