"Mary Lou"
Mary Louise Player Hatch passed away on May 9, 2008 in Holladay, Utah.Born October 15, 1923 in Salt Lake City, Utah to John Raymond and Anna Annette Hansen Player. She was the youngest of eight children. She attended Oneque Elementary and graduated from West High School. She married Douglas Lane Hatch October 3, 1946 in the Salt Lake City Temple. They resided in the Rose Park area from 1946 to 2004 where they raised three sons. She was the office manager for Carleson Cadillac for over 40 years and won many Cadillac Business Awards throughout her career. She was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and worked many years in the Young Women's Program especially enjoying the sports programs.
Her greatest joy was her 10 grandchildren and caring for her family. She spent a great deal of time taking care of her husband Doug and her two sisters, Ella and Ted, as they got older. She did this always with a smile and love and never complained. She loved to play games and was a fierce competitor. She raised three wonderful sons who were devoted to her. She loved music and always sang to the grandchildren. She always had a smile and was more interested in other people than herself.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Douglas; sisters, Ella,
Virginia, Lois, Helen, Edna (Ted), Elaine and John; a brother; and a grandson, James Colby. She is survived by her sons, Stephen (Becky), Dennis (Kathy), and Ronald (Diane) and grandchildren, Heather, Tyler, Harmony, Summer, Ryan, Shad, Lindsey, Adam and Vanessa. She also leaves behind eight great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank Cheri, "her boss", and all those at Alta Ridge Assisted Living who took such wonderful care of her and loved her and made her feel like she was at home.
