The STS Foundation offers the opportunity for international high school students to experience the American way of life, but first the students need a place to stay.
To keep their tradition of cultural exchange between students and families alive the foundation is calling for volunteers to host international students for the 2008-09 school year as they study in American high schools. The goal of the program is to offer both students and hosts an international perspective through daily interactions and cultural exchanges.
Hosts are required to provide the students with a separate bed, meals and a safe environment. Students involved in the program will have their own spending money and health insurance in case of an emergency.
Students are typically 15 to 18 years old and interested in studying some aspect of American culture or society.
