Idonna Whitehead Cannon

1920 ~ 2008

Our Beloved mother, grandmother and friend passed away peacefully at her home on May 17, 2008. She was born January 26, 1920 in Almo, Idaho, to Joseph William and Alzina Stewart Whitehead. She married James A. Cannon in the Salt Lake Temple on February 28, 1940. Idonna was a loving and giving mother and grandmother. She dedicated her life to serving her family and friends. Idonna was an active member of the LDS Church, holding many church positions. She had many talents including cooking, crocheting, quilting and poetry. She enjoyed traveling and spending quality time with family.

She is survived by, her children, Sharlene Ewell, James Cannon Jr., Shirley Price and Connie Johnson (Bruce). She will be greatly missed by many. Her posterity consists of four children; 20 grandchildren; 61 great-grandchildren and three great -great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by, her parents; eight siblings; her beloved husband; a still born daughter; a great-grandson; son-in-law and grandson.

A viewing will be held on Monday, May 26, 2008 at Memorial Mortuary, 5850 South 900 East where friends and family may visit from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 27, at 11:00 a.m. at the West Jordan 66th Ward, 7511 South 2700 West and friends may visit there from 10:00-10:45 a.m. Interment, Redwood Memorial Estates, 6500 South Redwood Road.
