On May 2nd, 2008, MaurineRiding Prestwich slipped quietly and peacefully from this life into the waiting arms of her parents, older brother, infant son and other loved ones.

Maurine was born in 1928 in

Delta, Utah to Benjamin F. Riding and Zina Wright. Orphaned at a young age, she was raised in Salt Lake City by her uncle and aunt, Wallace and Afton Wright. She attended BYU where she met and married her eternal companion, Leonard W. Prestwich in 1947, in the Salt Lake Temple. They raised three daughters and 1 son in Omaha, Nebraska before retiring to Salt Lake City. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her greatest joy was that of wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She always had time to talk or play with those who visited. In addition, Maurine had a great interest in sewing and needlework and has done much to beautify her home and those of her children. She was also involved in genealogy and family history.

She is survived by her husband, Leonard W. Prestwich; children, Afton (Dennis) Teague, Donna (Ken) Holman, Kathryn (Dave) Fifer, Daniel (Diane) Prestwich; brother, Lynn (Mary) Riding; 18 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Earl; son, Phillip Leonard Prestwich, Aunt Afton and Uncle Wallace.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, May 7, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Jenkins-Soffe South Valley, 1007 W. South Jordan Parkway (10600 S) where friends and family may call for a visitation from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to the service. Interment, Provo City Cemetery. In lieu of
