Clyde Reeve Bennett
1927 ~ 2008
Clyde Reeve Bennett, husband, father, grandfather and friend, passed away on May 6, 2008 in Holladay, Utah at the age of 80.He was born on July 30, 1927 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Charles and Caroline Bennett. He graduated from South High School and attended the University of Utah. He married Genevieve Ingram on August 19, 1950 in the Salt Lake Temple and they had a wonderful married life for many years.
He was employed by the Salt Lake City Corp. for over 40 years in the Engineering Department and in the Public Utilities Department as a crew chief of a surveyor crew. His crew surveyed many public improvement projects in both Salt Lake City and Salt Lake County such as new parks, roads, sidewalks, and small water reservoirs, and large pipe lines.
He enjoyed growing flowers, shrubs, trees and vegetables in his yard. He was especially proud of his roses. He liked to share his fruit and vegetables with his family, neighbors and friends.
Clyde loved to travel. He would like to go somewhere every year. He has traveled with his wife to all 50 States, Canada, Mexico, Europe and Israel.
Throughout his life he was active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served on the Holladay Stake High Council, a Bishop's Counselor, Stake and Ward Executive Secretaries, Stake and Ward Clerks, Temple worker in the Salt Lake Temple, an L.D.S. volunteer at the Utah State Prison, Elders Quorum president, Ward Young Men's president and a consistent Home Teacher.
Clyde's greatest joy in life was his wife and family. He was a devoted husband, dad and grandpa.
He is survived by his wife;

Bennett, Layton, Utah; daughters: Carolyn (Valeriano) Ugolini, Sandy, Utah; Julie (Lon) Halterman, Draper, Utah; eight grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, by sisters, Marian B. Ellis, Beth B. Marchant and brother Frank R.
Bennett.
Funeral services will be held on Sat. May 10, 2008 at 1 p.m. in the Holladay Stake Center, 4568 S. Holladay Blvd. Friends and family may call at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 S. Highland Dr. on Fri., May 9, 2008 from 6-8 p.m. and at the stake center one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
