Douglas Christensen

1956 ~ 2008

REXBURG, IDAHO- Douglas Jay Christensen, 51, of Salem, Idaho, died June 16, 2008, at his home of a prolonged illness.

He was born September 18, 1956, in Murray, Utah, to Alan and Arlene Howell Christensen.

He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served a mission in Chile.

He earned a Master's Degree in Educational Administration at Brigham Young University. He spent his career in Elementary Education as a teacher and principal.

He married Angelica Oyarce, a native Chilean, on June 1, 1983, in the Jordan River LDS Temple. They had three children, Alan, Danizza, and Maritza. He liked to coach his kids in soccer and enjoyed gardening and animals.

Christensen all of Salem, Idaho; parents, Alan and Arlene Christensen; siblings, Cory (Noemi) Christensen, Jolene (David) Harris, Nyle (Jana) Christensen, Janae (Steven) Patton, Jenette (Wynn) Hougaard, Clint (Teri) Christensen.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, June 20, at the Salem LDS Chapel. The family will receive friends Thurs. evening from 6-7:30 p.m. at Flamm Funeral Home in Rexburg and Friday from 12- 12:45 p.m. at the church prior to services. Interment will take place on Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Lehi, Utah City Cemetery.
