Robert E. Evans M.D., 72, of Henderson, Nevada, passed away Sat. June 14, 2008.He was born to Carvel Swift Evans and Leone Haslam August 25, 1935, in Salt Lake City, Utah, the second of four children. He graduated from East High School in Salt Lake in 1953 and the University of Utah with a bachelor's degree in Pre-Med in 1957, and the University of Utah Medical School in 1960. He married Roselind Edwards in 1959. After a year of internship in Salt Lake City, he was inducted into the United States Air Force in 1961 and attended Flight School in Aerospace Medicine in San Antonio, Texas. He received orders to Malmstrom Air Force Base in Great Falls, Montana to serve as a Flight Surgeon and he stayed there until 1964. He went on reserve duty that year and entered a residency in Pathology and Radiology at the University Medical Center in Salt Lake City in 1964. In 1968, Bob was assigned to Tachikawa Air Base in Japan on a tour that lasted until 1970. He attained the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. In 1971, he was offered a Radiologist's position in Pocatello, Idaho. There he started Pocatello Radiology Associates with Brent Hubbard M.D., a practice that is still in business. In 1981, he moved to St. George, Utah to start Southern Utah Radiology. He moved to Las Vegas in 1988 to work at the Las Vegas Medical Clinics for Elias Ghanem M.D. In 1998, after a long career, he retired.

No one was more important to him than his family, Roselind, Bob Jr. (Kyla), Mark (Shelley), and Mike. Later, his attentions turned to his grandchildren Kelsey, Avrey, Mary, Elizabeth, and Grant.

His parents and his brother Carvel preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, children, and grandchildren, his sister-in-law Charlotte, his sister Barbara (Carl) Bascom, his brother Kent (Rosemary), and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation and viewing will be June 20 at 10:30 a.m. at Palm Mortuary in Henderson, Nevada at 7600 S. Eastern Avenue. The funeral will follow at 12 noon. Burial will be in Paragonah, Utah Friday at 1 p.m.
