Alice Barton Muir

1916 ~ 2008

Alice Barton Muir, age 92, passed away at her home in Randolph, Utah, on June 16, 2008.She was born on May 22, 1916 in Randolph, Utah, the daughter of

Arthur Gilbert and Vilate (Spencer) Barton. She married Ira Brough Muir on June 14, 1934 in the Salt Lake Temple. He preceded her in death on December 5, 1994.

Alice was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and held several positions in all organizations in both the local ward and stake levels. She loved the church. She was also a member of The Daughters of Utah Pioneers (for 50 years), and also a member of the Rook-Ettes. She enjoyed crocheting, quilting, flowers, and doing compassionate service to all.

She is survived by her sons, Ira Lee "Ike" (Ruth) Muir, of Jerome, ID; Preston J. (Jill) Muir, of Evanston, WY; and A. Merrill (Ida) Muir, of Randolph, UT; a daughter, Carolyn Mattson, of Logan, UT.

Funeral services will be conducted at the Randolph L.D.S. Chapel on Thurs., June 19, 2008 at 12 Noon. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. at the Randolph Chapel. Interment will follow services at the Randolph Cemetery.
