Robert Lee Johansen
1930 ~ 2008
ROY- On June 13, 2008 Robert Lee Johansen returned home to Heavenly Father and his first wife Marisha (1939-1994) after a struggle with cancer. Due to his wife, Carla's, loving care and service, he was able to live his remaining days in his own home.
He was born Dec. 3, 1930 to Theresa and Peter Johansen, the ninth of their 12 children. He served in the armed forces then gained a degree in physics and pursued a career as a metal allergist at Hill Air Force Base. He served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Robert married Marisha Crouse in 1962 and he fathered eight children. They were married for 32 plus years before she passed away. He married Carla Limb in 1995.
He is a man who will be remembered for his kindness and service to others. He was a man with a strong will, and good work ethic, which he passed on to his children. He loved the outdoors, and was keen on physical activity. For many years he rode his bicycle 12 miles every day to work and back. Even in his seventies he would walk seven miles to the Ogden Temple to perform service work. He considered the gospel to be one of his greatest blessings.
He was a man of great conscience and spent many hours imparting his knowledge to his children. He was disciplined and lived up to his principles. His thrift and business sense live on in his children.
He is survived by his wife Carla, his children, Zhon Johansen (Kay), Zjani Witt, Talitha Kushlan (Mike), Thomas Johansen, Moroni Johansen, Rudyard Johansen (Victoria), Anoel Mower (Shawn), Alena Walker (Matthew), step children Jainine Evers (Jake), Catharine Limb, Aaron Limb, and 25 grandchildren.
Robert and Carla were so grateful for the good nursing staff at Hospice, and the support of their neighbors and ward members.
At this time we do not mourn for our patriarch, for we know that he has begun a new journey. We mourn for each other; for we will miss this great man's influence in our lives.
