She married James Gray Drummond on June 19, 1940, in the Manti Utah Temple. They are the parents of six devoted children. Gladys spent the first 70 years of her life in Springfield, Missouri. Her parents were baptized in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints when she was six-years-old. Gladys served many years in leadership callings throughout the branches and districts of the Central States Mission. As district Relief Society president she often traveled over a hundred miles to far-flung branches of the church in Missouri, Oklahoma, Kansas, and Arkansas to nurture and support families. She also served on the mission Relief Society Board, but always said her favorite calling in the church was that of a Sunday School teacher. She was a beloved mother cherished by her children and a beloved wife adored by her husband. She was a faithful sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend.

Gladys was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jim, in 2000 and will be interred next to him in the Salt Lake City Cemetery where they wait together for resurrection's morning.
