Sometimes Orson Scott Card comes on so strong he leaves his readership feeling like he's slapped their faces for something they haven't even done, which is one reason I don't read much by him anymore. My face was in reasonably good shape this morning, so I braved his column and, yes, I was slapped once again for something I haven't done or know about.

Does the Deseret News publish his column simply because he's LDS or because he's a famous writer? I wish I were a famous writer. I already know how to throw tantrums. I'd like to be paid for it, too! Perhaps this newspaper needs to take a hint from the Science Fiction Book Club and put language warnings on Card's writing.
