TRACK & FIELD: Two WSU freshmen will compete this weekend at the USA Junior Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Columbus, Ohio. Eric Bailey and Lindsey Spencer will compete in the meet at Ohio State University, where they'll be looking for a spot at the Junior World Championships.
Bailey, a native of Portland, Ore., will compete in the 110-meter hurdles and the 400-meter hurdles. The trials and finals in both events are today. Bailey had a strong freshman season for the Wildcats, highlighted by winning the Big Sky title in the 400-meter hurdles last month. During the season, he set a WSU freshman record in the event, posting a time of 51.62 — fifth-best in Weber State history. He was Weber State's leading scorer at the Big Sky Championships last month. Spencer, a native of Riverton, will compete today in the women's discus. Spencer finished sixth at last month's Big Sky Championships in Sacramento, Calif., posting a mark of 144 feet, 3 inches. Earlier in the season, she posted a career best mark of 154-0, which ranks as third-best in WSU history and is also a Weber State freshman record.f-u
