Lloyd Thomas Stoker
1929 ~ 2008
Lloyd Thomas Stoker, 78, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend returned peacefully to his Heavenly Father on Sunday, June 22 from complications incident to age.
Born on November 28, 1929 to Minnie Ora Child Stoker and Herman Deloss Stoker in Roy, Utah, Lloyd spent most of his childhood in Burley, Idaho. He married his high school sweetheart, best friend, and eternal companion, Betty Lorraine Kesler June 23, 1948 in the Idaho Falls Temple shortly after graduating from Burley High School.
Together, they raised five children: Thomas Stoker, Launa (Richard) Jaynes, Karen Stoker, Randal (Carol) Stoker, and Shari (Kevin) Whitehead, had 15 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.
Lloyd, a faithful lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, shared his strong testimony of Jesus Christ by serving five missions with his dear Betty to the Boise Temple, Nauvoo, Illinois, Barbados, West Indies, Ogden Temple, and Rochester, New York. Lloyd was always a hard worker who tirelessly sought to help family and friends with any project big or small. He worked most of his life as a telephone engineer and dairy farmer (raised and loved Jersey cows) and was the consummate scout, enjoying with family, friends and scouts alike, the beautiful mountains of his beloved Idaho as a hunter, fisherman, and camper.
He is survived by his wife and all seven of his siblings: Ora Whittier, Shirley Clark, Deloss Stoker, Vaughn Stoker, Lynn Stoker, Carol Satchwell, and Robert Stoker.
A viewing will be held at Memorial Mortuary 5850 South 900 East from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, June 27, 2008. Also, at 10:00 June 28th with funeral services to follow at 11:00 a.m. at Crescent 5th Ward 1050 East 10600 South in Sandy. Interment at Lindquist Memorial Park, 1867 North Fairfield Road, Layton, Utah.
