WEST VALLEY CITY — Police arrested a woman Friday after a wild chase through part of the Salt Lake Valley.

An officer on patrol around 4:30 a.m. spotted a pickup and a car driving up Redwood Road at a high speed. The pickup then rammed into the car, West Valley Police Sgt. John Pearce said.

"He pulls over the one that's been rammed. The occupant says, 'That's my truck that's been stolen. It rammed me,"' Pearce said.

The officer then chased the pickup up Redwood Road and onto I-80 and I-15. In Murray, officers deployed tire spikes near 5600 South, and the pickup eventually stopped.

"The officer started to come up to the truck to give commands, and the driver wouldn't comply," Pearce said. "She threw a gun case out of the car."

Police said the woman was combative and a police dog had to be deployed. The woman fought the dog and was eventually Tasered. The woman was taken to a hospital to be checked before being booked into jail.
