DES MOINES, Iowa — Brandon Wood drove in four runs, including a 3-run homer, to lead the Salt Lake Bees to a 9-4 win over the Iowa Cubs on Monday.

The Bees led 3-2 in the fourth when Chris Walker drew a two-out base on balls. Sean Rodriguez doubled home Walker and then scored on a single by Freddy Sandoval to make it 5-2. Kendry Morales singled, and Wood capped off the inning with a three-run blast over the centerfield wall.

Wood, who had popped up with the bases loaded in the first inning, added a sacrifice fly in the sixth inning.

Anthony Ortega picked up the win in his Triple-A debut, as he went five innings and allowed three runs, two earned, on six hits with seven strikeouts and two walks.

Sandoval ended up with four hits and two runs batted in, while Morales added four hits. Adam Morrissey chipped in three hits and an RBI, and Sean Rodriguez had two hits and an RBI as the Bees regained the best record in the PCL at 69-47.
