BOISE, Idaho — Boise State will be without it's best wide receiver for the season opener.

Bronco coach Chris Petersen announced Monday that Jeremy Childs has been suspended for the home opener Aug. 30 against Idaho State. But Petersen declined to elaborate on the disciplinary action but says he believes Childs has learned from his mistakes.

It's the latest penalty for the Bronco's best wideout.

Childs was disciplined earlier this year and missed the Hawaii Bowl game and spring practices.

As a sophomore last season, he led the Broncos with 82 catches for 1,045 yards and nine touchdowns, production that earned him All-conference first-team status.

Childs met with reporters Tuesday and apologized for his actions.
