PROVO — Church history professor Fred E. Woods will deliver the Brigham Young University devotional address at the Marriott Center on Tuesday at 11:05 a.m.
Woods has taught at BYU since 1998. His research interests include the pioneer migration of the 1800s, Americans incarcerated for their religious beliefs and the history of the church in the Hawaiian Islands.
Woods is a native of Southern California who converted to the LDS Church at age 20. Following a mission to Australia, Woods studied at BYU, Hebrew University and the University of Utah.
After earning his doctorate in Middle East studies, Woods spent 12 years teaching in LDS seminary and institute programs in Utah County, Southern California and Colorado.
