RIVERTON — A man politely robbed a credit union Wednesday, thanking tellers as he took their money, police said.
The robbery happened about 3:30 p.m. at Jordan Credit Union, 2522 W. 12600 South, said Salt Lake County Sheriff's Lt. Don Hutson.
Police said the man had a semi-automatic handgun in the waistband of his pants when he walked into the credit union, told everyone not to panic and then approached the two tellers.
After he took the money, the man thanked the tellers for "doing a good job," Hutson said.
Police say they believe the man fled the credit union on foot.
The suspect is described as a young Caucasian man, around 6-feet tall, with a medium build and broad shoulders. He was wearing a ski mask, red hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and gloves, Hutson said.
