Both of Utah's golfers at the PGA Championship missed the cut by wide margins Friday at Hazeltine National.
Sandy's Mike Weir missed his second "major" cut in a row, shooting a 9-over-par 81 for a 155 total.
Weir needed another 74, but never got it going, not making a single birdie on the day, while making seven bogeys and a double bogey.
Last month, Weir missed the cut at the British Open by one shot after shooting a second-round 78.
Sandy club pro Steve Schneiter played better Friday but had too much ground to make up. He finally made a couple of birdies, at No. 9 and No. 15, but also had bogeys at 1, 3, 4, 7, 10 and 11.
For Schneiter it was his 10th appearance in the PGA Championship.
"Any time I have an opportunity to play in something like this, a major, I learn quite a bit and it helps," he said. "But I'm just disappointed in the way I performed."
