Ethics suggestions

If the legislators really wanted ethics reform and the trust of citizens, they would form an ethics committee that is put together similar to the way a jury is picked in court. Having ethics reform by legislators, friends, supporters and lobbyists will only be cosmetic.

A few suggestions would be: Set a maximum limit on the amount of donations to a campaign or elected representative. Make it a reasonable amount so that all candidates who choose to run will not be at a disadvantage to the more wealthy candidates. Any candidate who receives more than the maximum amount allowed must pay a 40 percent tax on the excessive amount. This money could be used to help finance government services such as police, fire, roads and help the needy people. And set some reasonable time frames before campaigning can begin. This would reduce the cost.
