Sammy is back.
The Humane Society of Utah says a chihuahua that was stolen last week from the home of an employee was turned in Monday and reunited with its owners.
Mary Rancipher rescued Sammy three years ago. The dog couldn't bark — and still can't — after suffering an injury on a barbed-wire fence.
On Thursday Rancipher was taking her children to school when her husband returned to their West Valley City home and discovered the door kicked in, the house ransacked and the 5-year-old dog missing from an outdoor kennel.
The Humane Society says a family in Magna took the dog in on Friday night after seeing it hiding under a car.
The family will get a $1,000 reward for finding the pup.
