FARMINGTON — The City Council has authorized buying 3,900 containers for the upcoming curbside recycling program.
Once the containers are purchased, they will be delivered to residents by November or December, said city manager Max Forbush.
The city expects more than 80 percent participation, Forbush said. It is still working out an implementation schedule.
"We're thinking a November-December start-up time," he said. "A lot of it depends on the manufacturing and delivery of the containers."
The monthly recycling fee has not been set. Forbush said he expects it to be less than $4.
The curbside program will allow residents to dispose of paper, newsprint, cardboard, various plastics and aluminum cans.
