Charges were filed Tuesday against a man police say punched another man after being denied a cigarette.

According to charging documents, a 36-year-old man approached another man who was waiting for a bus at 751 W. 700 South. The second man was smoking when he was approached and refused the other man's request for a cigarette.

The attacker then hit the smoker in the face and took the cigarette from his mouth before casually walking away, police said.

The alleged assailant is being held in Salt Lake County Jail on charges of second-degree felony robbery. His bail has been set at $10,000.
