A 29-year-old bicyclist suffered head injuries Tuesday afternoon when he was struck by a commercial vehicle.

Salt Lake City police said the bicyclist was not wearing a helmet when the car hit him. The vehicle was pulling out of a driveway at 2205 S. 900 East when the man was cycling past.

The bicyclist was transported to a local hospital, where he was listed in serious condition with head injuries, police said. Officers on the scene of the accident were trying to determine more details about the incident.
