COPPERTON — A fire earlier this week at a bar was being called suspicious by investigators.
The Ore House Saloon, near 9100 West and 10200 South, sustained about $150,000 damage after a fire started on the exterior of the building, said Unified Fire Authority Capt. Clint Smith.
Salt Lake County sheriff's deputies were initially sent to the saloon about 1:40 a.m. Wednesday because of an alarm that had been set off. When they arrived, they saw the flames and called for fire crews, Smith said.
"Given the timing, it probably was not just some accidental fire," he said.
Smoke and water caused significant damage to the interior.
"They'll have to replace a lot of furnishings," Smith said.
