Salt Lake sorority, fraternity events

The LDS sororities and fraternities at the Institute of Religion at the University of Utah, Lambda Delta Sigma and Sigma Gamma Chi, are looking for college-age young adults to join some of the 17 different sororities and 12 fraternities. All uphold church standards and meet weekly on either Wednesday or Thursday nights. Rush week is Aug. 24-30.Aug. 25 is rush for the girls at the Huntsman Center at 6:30 p.m. Bring $5 and receive a drawstring bag. Institute barbecue will be sponsored by LDSSA from 8 to 11 p.m. on Aug. 26. A carnival thrown by Sigma Gamma Chi is Aug. 27 from 8 to 11 p.m. on the east lawn. The Rush "Get Down" is 8 to 11 p.m. in the institute parking garage on Aug. 29. On Aug. 30 at 7 p.m. is a fireside at the Conference Center Theater. The new institute director, Grant C.
