Salt Lake City police are looking for a couple they say took an elderly woman's backpack as she walked home from the store.

About 10:15 a.m. Thursday, an elderly woman was walking in the area of 2500 South and 1400 East when she was attacked by another woman. The woman took the elderly woman's backpack, got into a waiting vehicle being driven by a man, and drove away, said Salt Lake police spokeswoman Lara Jones.

It was unknown Thursday morning what was in the backpack. The elderly woman was not injured.

The woman who took the backpack was described as being in her late 20s to early 30s. She was either Polynesian or Hispanic, about 5-foot-2 and described as having a "chunky" build, Jones said. The woman was last seen wearing a white sweatshirt.

Anyone with information on the robbery can call police at 801-700-6397.
