WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL:
The Griffins finished the second day of the 2009 Cougar Classic by splitting two matches. The Griffins opened the day with a great five-set win over The Master's College. That was followed with a loss to No. 2 Concordia (Calif.) to end the tournament. The Griffins finished the event with a 1-3 record to start the 2009 season.
Westminster will return to California next weekend to take part in the Sunbird Invitational hosted by Fresno Pacific University. The tournament begins on Friday as the Griffins will face Menlo and Southern Oregon. On Saturday Westminster has matches with Cornerstone and the host and defending national champion, Fresno Pacific.
