MILLCREEK — A man was found dead inside his car Tuesday in the parking lot of St. Mark's Hospital.
Leonard Burr, 66, who investigators say has history of some health problems, was found curled up in a fetal position in the passenger seat of his Jeep Cherokee.
Hospital security officers had spotted the car in the far, northwest part of the parking lot, near 1200 East and 3900 South, late Monday night, said Salt Lake County Sheriff's Lt. Don Hutson. They documented it, noting that it wasn't parked straight in the stall, and moved on.
On Tuesday, they noticed the car was still there. The doors were unlocked and the windows rolled down. This time, they got out to check the vehicle and saw a man inside. There were not obvious signs of trauma or immediate clues about how he died, Hutson said.
Burr lived close to the hospital. An autopsy will be performed to determine how he died. His vehicle was taken by investigators to process for possible evidence, but Hutson noted that on the surface, the man's death did not appear to be suspicious.
