A 49-year-old Salt Lake City man has been charged with possessing and intending to distribute or sell child pornography, according to documents filed Tuesday in 3rd District Court.
Court documents say Scott J. Thomson possessed multiple forms of child pornography in his apartment at 335 S. 200 East.
A property manager went through several items left behind when Thomson vacated the apartment in May 2008 and found three CDs with suspected child pornography. The manager contacted police, who ultimately confiscated pornographic photographs, 15 CDs and other items from the apartment, court documents said.
During questioning with investigators in July, Thomson admitted to having an interest in child pornography, police said.
Thomson is charged with 10 counts of second-degree felony sexual exploitation of a minor. If convicted, he faces a maximum sentence of 15 years in prison for each charge.
